buyers choice and flexibility when building.
From a 1,350-square-foot bungalow to a
2,600-square-foot two-storey, Baywest offers
versatility while retaining its commitment to
quality. Homeowners are offered the freedom
to create remarkable homes of great personal
value. Custom is standard in a Baywest home.
The Baywest show home, located at 112
Ranch Road, features 2,570 square-feet
of superior living space but, thanks to it’s
thoughtful design, it seems much larger.
Upon entering the show home you are
immediately captured by the contrast of the
hand-scrapped koha birch hardwood against
soft buttery walls and exquisite decor. This
show home has just about everything,
including a mudroom, main floor den,
front office, great room with fireplace, three
bedrooms, four bathrooms, massive walk-in
closets, upstairs laundry, bonus room, boiler
system, in-floor heating, triple car garage and
much, much more.
Of course, what is perhaps most attractive
for buyers in the Okotoks Air Ranch is the lot
size. Brent Hleucka, home planning specialist
and area manager with Baywest, says the
lot prices in Rancher’s Rise are phenomenal
considering their size. “You can’t get lots like
this anywhere,” he points out.
Hleucka encourages buyers to take the
pleasant drive out to Okotoks to check
out the home for themselves, or visit
www.baywesthomes.com where you can
take virtual tours of their homes and select
from a wide range of plans to satisfy your
desires. OL
Skywings
Aviation Centre
When the Calgary International Airport
became too busy to house private aircrafts,
many people had to turn to Springbank to
store their aircraft. That was until the Air
Ranch was developed.
Air Ranch, home to the Skywings Aviation
Centre, opened the doors for many people
living in south Calgary and the surrounding
area to store their aircraft closer to home. In
fact, there are more than 30 homes in the
Air Ranch which actually have direct runway
access to their backyards and plenty of other
homes in proximity to the aviation centre.
“There is a pent-up demand as far as the
growth and development of the Calgary
International Airport. There are a lot of
people involved in aviation who live in
south Calgary,” says Bryce Medd, developer
of the Okotoks Air Ranch.
Presently the airport has a 3,100-foot
paved runway. The newly constructed
55,000-square-foot commercial hanger with
five inside bays includes the original 10,000-
square-foot hanger. The tie-down area
has 20 aircraft on the ground with storage
capacity for another 25 to 30 aircraft. It also
houses two commercial firms in the airport:
Skywings Aviation Flight School and Arrow
Lake Helicopters. The flight school facility is
integrated into a single, on-site hanger.
There is no controller in the airport, it is
pilot-to-pilot controlled which is indicative of
the level of traffic at the airport. OL
