Thank you! The response — both phone calls and emails — to the first
edition of Okotoks Living was overwhelmingly positive from businesses and residents alike.
We thought Okotoks was ready for this kind of high-quality lifestyle publication and, as it
turns out, we were right. We welcome your feedback — whether in the form of questions,
comments or concerns — on anything you see or read in the magazine, or anything you’d
like to see. Remember, it’s your town ... and your magazine.
Hello Jim,
I just got back to the office from
attending the Okotoks and District
Chamber of Commerce monthly
meeting. I am one of two vice
presidents on the board this year, and
last year was a director.
As someone who is actively involved
in my community, and all that it has
to offer, it gave me a sense of great
pride to see the premiere edition of
Okotoks Living magazine. It’s fantastic! I
absolutely love the “local” quality of
the magazine. What a great idea, and
although I am not a writer or publisher,
I see so many endless opportunities for
growth of this publication.
I can’t wait for the next one already!!!

Hi Jim:
Congrats on Okotoks Living. Your first
edition turned out really well. I too am an
Okotoks resident. Sarah and I moved our
family to an acreage here almost two years
ago now. Keep up the good work.
Cheers,

Hello!
Just got a copy of the magazine, WOW!
Look forward to reading it.
Thank you for including A Touch
of Italy-Okotoks in the Olde Towne
Okotoks spread.
Hi Jim,
I just wanted to say that I thoroughly
enjoyed the first edition of Okotoks
Living, including some of the terrific
pictures. Having not only lived in Okotoks
for 11 years, but also having established
my business coaching practice here, I can
say that I enjoyed reading the articles in
your new magazine. I even learned a few
new tidbits about the “Big Rock” that I can
share with family and friends when they
come to visit.
Dear Editor,
I am writing in response to your
question about the population
cap. The majority of residents
want to keep the population
cap. Everyone wants to keep the
small town feel of Okotoks. I too
want to keep that feeling and am
concerned about the water, but
there is an important issue that
everyone is forgetting. TAXES.
If we keep the population cap
and the M.D. builds around us
they will be using our services
at our expense. In order to pay
for the increased use to our
infrastructure our taxes will rise,
not the M.D. users’. Our tax rate
will become unaffordable. People
need to think about this while
considering the future.
Thank you,
SHELLEY TAYLOR
Okotoks resident
(Editor’s note: For more on Okotoks’
population cap, see the update
article on page 39)
